The regulation of the Amazon forest based on ecosystem services

It is evident that all the resources that nature provides us are of great benefit to the individual, since they are used to cover and satisfy the needs that ensure their survival. In other words, resources are elements used for food, health, economy and recreation, in such a way that they are considered sources of development. Likewise, when the subject takes advantage of these natural resources, he is not only benefiting himself, but also contributing to the community, either to achieve or achieve optimal local sustainable development or, also, to increase tourist activities, generating and increasing income that benefits its inhabitants. In this sense, taking advantage of these resources that nature offers us revolves around three sustainable aspects or criteria: environmental, social and economic. From this conception, we will say that a balance is maintained with nature, favoring future generations.
Starting from this initiative that encourages us to recognize, value and conserve natural resources, we will focus our attention on forests, as they are the first-hand source considered the main provider of ecosystem services that allow us to regulate and control the effects that fall on them.
Because of the great benefits obtained from forests belonging to an ecosystem, we will say that they are essential for human life. It is known that forests are of great importance for an entire locality, as they contribute to climate regulation, reduce risk levels during climate change, protect soils, among others, in such a way that these benefits are part of the benefits of ecosystem services. Forests become more important because they form “significant carbon sinks, because they constitute diverse and rich ecosystems, or because they are providers of basic ecosystem services,” such as: water regulation, protection of diversity.
However, the environment and its natural elements are threatened by this excessive use that human life has of them. Both negative externalities such as contamination of water, air, soil, excess production, lack of control in the management of water resources, deforestation and endangered species are direct consequences of human activities. For this reason, the conservation of natural resources merits the increase of methods that adapt to the linking of values with the importance of ecosystem goods and services in decision-making and the sustainable management of Peru's natural heritage. So, it can be said that environmental science and its contributions, regarding the sustainability of natural resources, will serve as a starting point to fully recognize the structures and functions that its components deserve, in this case, forests or forest spaces. .
