Information and communication technologies to improve citizen security
Keywords:
citizen security, ICTsSynopsis
Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are a broad set of practices, knowledge and instruments related to the consumption and transmission of data. ICTs, therefore, behave as means that facilitate a better exchange of data between people located in distant places, as they reduce the time invested in generating, capturing, saving and moving information.
Technology and information systems are viable instruments to confront the criminal problems that lurk in the world. This technological advance must be understood as a means of accessibility to informative data about the crime committed and its prevention. In this way, technology should not only involve obtaining information, but also an analysis process that allows us to understand other problematic issues related to security. The integration of technology in the citizen security systems of various countries plays an essential role in reducing crimes, such as homicides, thefts and financial sabotage, topics that are presented and deepened in this book.
