A contribution to knowledge management: Model to measure intellectual capital in accredited industrial engineering careers

Synopsis

This research proposes the design of a measurement model for Intellectual Capital (IC) after identifying the factors that generate value and induce success, taking into account the variables of Intellectual Capital: Human Capital, Structural Capital, Relational Capital and Social Capital , which were analyzed through a case study. This model for measuring Intellectual Capital was empirically validated through a sample of 100 teachers, obtained from four (04) Accredited Industrial Engineering Programs in Peru. The results show that Intellectual Capital has a differentiating competitive advantage, having reached a valuation of 63.54%, where Human Capital has the highest valuation with respect to Structural Capital, with 24.02%, followed by Capital Structural with 16.5%, Relational Capital with 13.98% and, finally, Social Capital, with 9.05%; Using Bayesian Networks, twelve factors have been determined that have a significant influence on Intellectual Capital and the impacts they generate. An application software is proposed for the measurement and management of Intellectual Capital.
