Synopsis

The teaching-learning process is constantly changing, due to the growing motivation to innovate different human activities and constant technological progress. Innovativeness and technological advances provide a basis for new approaches to student learning and teachers' teaching methodology.
In this sense, learning is, in a holistic way, a process by which faculties or knowledge are built that allow us to understand the world; this process requires an evaluation mechanism to ensure that students learn what is desired. The teacher is the one who cooperates with the development of this learning as a counselor (Ruz, 2018). The knowledge that a person acquires is configured ―according to Correa et al. (2019)― as a set of ideas, symbols or mental schemes about any phenomenon of the universe that are stored, transferred and improved through experience and assessment in order to respond to problematic situations.
Therefore, the acquisition of new knowledge takes place through learning and, in addition, through teaching models, a process that is carried out by an expert, counselor or instructor. These models or methodologies must be the most appropriate and be constantly updated according to the changes developed.
In the 21st century, the implementation of digitization in the teaching-learning process is characteristic, since new technologies are substantial components to produce extraordinary learning. Likewise, these digital tools promote the active participation of students and provide didactic and creative teaching strategies to teachers in order to cooperate and guide the learning of such students (Sumardi et al., 2020).
The technological revolution in education has produced the m-learning or mobile learning movement, which -according to Gamarra (2021)- requires teachers to adapt to current technology and provide teaching through the use of mobile devices. From this, it follows that teachers must be trained and immersed in the operation of these tools.
This mobile learning movement also requires a business architecture that organizes the information technologies of each educational system and allows teaching-learning to be improved, in accordance with technological advances.
On the other hand, teaching by teachers, generally guided by methodological strategies. Methodological strategies are generally considered as the totality of teaching methods, techniques and materials used by the teacher when teaching (Gutiérrez, 2020). Therefore, these strategies also facilitate an improvement in the development of the learning process.
The use of a methodology, a model such as m-learning or e-learning, of methodological strategies is necessary for the activities that the entire teaching-learning process implies. Therefore, knowing the current trends in education is essential for teachers who face constant changes in educational systems, since this information allows educators to improve the delivery of classes and the interaction with their students.
