Synopsis

Throughout history, different human organizations have been constituted by rules whose main objective is to make life between individuals bearable. These regulations range from laws to penalties for non-compliance with them. In this way, society has found tools that consolidate respect among the majority of citizens, always bearing in mind that the rights of some end when the rights of others begin. In other words, the human being has become an individual aware of his actions and how they can affect him if he goes against the law.
However, companies, which refers to a larger unit formed by the interest of producing a good and a service and that could also affect society in some way collectively, for many years, did not have regulations that regulate your actions. It is in this context that different scholars conclude that the conceptualization of the so-called social responsibility is necessary, explained as the commitment and duty that a company assumes towards the members of a community, which can be of an environmental, social, politician etc. The result of this measure showed that companies often do not evaluate the impact that it could generate in the context where they were, therefore, the social audit emerges as such and already with a more formal weight, a tool that allows evaluating the results that it is obtained in a project in which it is evaluated how ethical it is being during the production process.
An example of this is how a company is relating to its workers, if they receive, apart from salary and benefits, decent treatment. Another case that can serve as an example is how an entity in charge of mining respects the impact it generates on the environment.
In this line, the present work has a main concern about the social responsibility that involves higher level educational institutions, that is, what is the commitment that the elements that make up a training entity must assume in front of society regardless of the classification that they receive, as well as the institution itself.
On the one hand, a university's main function is to generate quality professionals who thus constitute a favorable contribution to the community, that the educational tool of a student is the sustenance that will allow him to live without hardship, and, on the other, that these same university students become agents of change in a community or region using the tools provided by a training organization.
In this sense, the main objective of this research is to determine the way in which social auditing affects university social responsibility of higher public education institutions in the southern region of Peru.
